Consider a system with three masses and four springs in the ‘fixed-fixed’ configuration: that is, the masses are fixed at the BOTTOM AND at the TOP. In addition to the spring forces, the system undergoes dampening. These drag forces must be included in the force balance one uses to create the dynamic system. Write governing equations and a Crank-Nicolson solution scheme – written in blockmatrix form – for the dynamics of the system. Thank you! I was able to work out a fixed- free system for a previous question, but am confused how to add the extra spring and add those forces to the system.
